This ten day intensive Australian Government accredited course is designed to provide essential skills and knowledge for organisations to effectively manage the risks and opportunities associated with the transition to a low-carbon economy.

Developed and delivered by industry experts and world renowned researchers who have extensive experience in climate change policy, carbon and energy markets, business management, energy efficiency, forestry and business sustainability, this course looks at carbon and energy in a global context, focusing on specific legislation and markets that exist within and influence ASEAN member countries. Participants will gain practical knowledge on climate science, energy systems, energy technologies, energy and climate economics, public policy, energy and carbon management tools, environmental management, lifecycle analysis, strategic business management thinking and sustainability communication.

 

How Are We Different?

The course is practically focused, equipping participants with a multitude of highly sought after skills that are critical in the management of energy, carbon and sustainability issues within and outside their organisation.
This course includes a series of innovative practical exercises. These exercises involve completing various carbon and energy management activities for a designated ‘hypothetical’ company and include an energy audit, sustainability reporting using the Global Reporting Initiative, greenhouse gas emissions inventory and the appraisal of various energy generation technologies.
Participation in an emissions trading scheme simulation to better understand the applications. The simulation exercises are designed to complement the workshop material and contribute to fun and collaborative learning outcomes, as well as valuable skills that participants can really use in their own organisations once they have completed the course.
